What is Time Management?
Time management is one of the most valuable soft skills one can develop. It will be a high priority when you are in the working world, and hitting many other potential milestones in your life.
Time management is essentially the ability to prioritise your tasks in their appropriate categories, plan out how you’ll achieve the goals you set, and give yourself enough time to complete each one.
You will need to learn the difference between what is urgent, and what is important in time management so that you know where and when to slot various things in. It’s all about planning and productivity.
Matrics: Time is Ticking
With finals already here, you are probably feeling an array of different emotions. Part of time management is making sure you take a breather here and there so that your emotions don’t rule you, but rather you give yourself the opportunity to process things. This is also something you have to make time for and carve into your schedule. Essentially, this is priority number one when managing your time.
Fun fact: stress management is as important as time management.
Plan out your matric work and the time you spend on summarising, research and learning.
Some ways you can improve your time management skills include:
- drawing up a study timetable
- scheduling and allocating your different sections of work at different times
- set alarms throughout the day so you are reminded when to start and stop with your studying sections
Also be sure to eat all the good food that gets your brain thinking well and clearly.
