If you would like to study in 2020, you need to know the institution application dates. From there, you can start the application process. Exciting times!
There is no doubt about it: applying for tertiary studies is a big deal. For starters, you need to get your application in on time. The only way to do this is to know the application closing dates. But, where can you find these dates? Well, you have come to the right place. We have all the 2020 closing application dates for South African institutions lined up. To save time, choose the type of institution you are looking to apply to below. You can then skip down to these dates straight away 🙂 You’re welcome.
Is Education Fee-Free?
Yes! If you meet the criteria set by the government, you are eligible for fee-free education in South Africa. So, what’s on the checklist?
You will need to:
- meet the minimum requirements for your study choice
- have an annual household income of less than R350 000 a year if you’re a first-time applicant
So, you qualify fee-free education? That’s awesome. Next step: apply directly to a public institution before the closing date. The government will only reopen the Central Application Clearing House (CACH) in January 2020. Therefore, you can apply for fee-free education through NSFAS once they open applications this year.
Please note: the CACH system will NOT allow you to choose a specific institution to study at. It will simply match you to the institutions that still have space available.
Please note: Most TVET colleges in South Africa are open to applications throughout the year. There will be different intake and registration periods for each trimester.
